This is a high-speed (1/4000 of a second) shot of water in a creek in Lundy Canyon in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. I noticed an active part of the creek that was in shade, with a well-lit portion of white water behind it. I knew if I metered for the part in shade, it would blow out the background and isolate in the foreground the fascinating shapes of water in motion.
