This is a 186-second exposure of the Milky Way, photographed from near Glacier Point on July 10, 2010, on the eve of a new moon. The longer streak you see is a meteor!
I was very excited to be in the right place at the right time to view and photograph the Milky Way. I've wanted to get more into astro-photography and this was the very first time I captured the Milky Way in a photo.
